She says he is like Santa Paws his beard is white.

Brydie said she has trained Scamp already she

gets the lap to sit on.

have had an e-mail she is very happy.

She has a Cairn brother Scamp he is much older

and wiser.

She has a nice big garden to run in and is making

Little Lilly Mae has gone to a new home,

we have heard from her and she is very happy.

Before she went , she said to Brydie I hope you

get a nice new home soon I will think about you.

Then Lilly Mae went to Pip she said I

will miss you and I am sorry for going

Then Lilly Mae came to me, she said I will

miss you Grumpy Bobby, you have been

kind to me realy. She said you might get a

a home one day.

To be a foster dog for five years must suck.

I turned my head away I did not want her to see

the tears in my eye. I am sure going to miss

this cheeky little girl.

Today the grass was white with ice our feet

were freezing.

John told us to run about so Brydie and Pip

played chase to keep warm.

I said lets go home now, so we went home

guess what we saw.

get warm to.

When it warmed up a bit Lilly Mae came

out with us, I said follow me we will walk in

the sun, do not stand on the ice.

She followed Brydie and stood in ice then

did little hops from one foot to another.

She went to Pip she said is your tootsies freezing,

Pip said no I am hot, She said thats because you

are fat.

When we got home Lilly Mae said sorry to

Dippy Pip for saying he was fat.

So he said she could sit with him and

look out of the window.

She said there is no room because you are fat.

The good news is Misty has gone to

a great new home.

This little girl has just come today,

Brenda went for her as her mum and

dad feel they can not look after her as

they are both in bad health.

They are both very upset to give her

up, but feel it will be better for her to

get a new home.

Her name is Lilly Mae she is a 14 months old

Toy Yorkie she now needs a new home.

Pip said Hello I am a Yorkshire Terrier

like you, but you are small, she said but

I am very brave.

am your friend.

Then she went to Brydie she said that fat boy

thinks he is like me, he wants to be my friend.

Lilly Mae came for me to give my

opinion on who was the prettiest.

She had Dippy Pip there and she was

saying mirror mirror on the wall who

is the prettiest dog of all.

Now Lilly Mae is telling them how she

should be a model.

Well now look. they came in all quite and shy,

now they take the sofa over.

The sun came out and they were first on the bench.

No room for me.

We have been loads of walks on my field.

I told Brydie about my beach, and she said

I would love to go to your beach.

The ran about all over.

There was loads of seaweed so I went to

examine it.

Then I could not believe my eyes talk

about multiplication.

I walked away now I know we only had

one Westie when we went.

They all followed me it was like a nightmare.

Pip sat on the prom he was upset because

no furbody was playing with him.

Pip came back and he was running

for his ball, they all chased after him,

so that made him happy.

He is a dot in the distance no furbody's

can keep up with him.

Once we were home Mop boy Pip is back to his

a couch potato life.

This is little Brydie and Misty they have just

come, they now need a home as their owner

is in ill health.

Brydie is a Cairn Terrier and Misty is a Westie.

Pip asked them how old they were Brydie said I

am 3 years old, Misty is only 2 and a half.

We went out and Pip tried the you follow me

he said he is older and wiser.

Well now I have seen daft dogs before and we

know Pip is dippy, he said follow me they said

okay.

Then they all went off in different directions.

This is little Misty she is a nice friendly little dog.

This is Brydie she is also very friendly and

loves Children.

Before even I came, there was a foster dog

called Alfie and he had a plastic hip after an

accident.

Alfie got a great home and Ann and Chris

have always let us know how Alfie was getting

on.

He has other furbody furends Asha and Raga,

But Asher and him are great furends,

Alfie uses her to rest his leg.

Asher never seems to mind Alfie

using her as a cushion.

We just had to let you see this last

photo who could have a better furend

Peace on earth could not get better.

It does make us feel it is worth while.

Alfie has got more furends now.

Little Rio has gone to his new home today.

Now look Dippy Pip is crying , Brenda put

new pillows on the bed and Pip got

in the old ones and is sulking he said he

is missing Rio.

Now he said he will hold his bow and Rio

will come to take it off him, daft thing.

We went for a walk it was dark when we

came back and he was still looking for Rio

I went to John I said I feel sorry for little Pip.

Now he is getting a nurse so he is feeling

better.

We wish little Rio a happy Life.

Pinky and Perky or two daft dogs, Pip

took Rio to the back of the garage to rake

in the toy box.

Then they ran about and played tug.

They both wanted the same thing all the

time.

Then the football came out and got burst.

They fought on the chair and got told off.

I think they have got stuck together.

They were taking lumps out of each other before

and now they are cuddled up.

I would not care, two of them together do not

make a whole one.

If one goes to sit by John so does the other.

They have gone to sleep now, but I have not had my little

nap through them charging about.

I can not be bothered to even walk to my bed.

We took little Rio to my beach,

he said he has not been to a beach.

Pip tried the you follow me rubbish,

Rio said get lost.

He ran off to see what was sticking out

of a big hole.

He said its a dog butt, the dog jumped out of the

hole and they ran about together.

They even played in the water.

I met a furend as well.

Then little Rio came and followed me.

He is a funny little guy he ran about

grabbing any toys or treats he could find.

He even got one out of Pips bed.

We that is me (Bobby, and John helps) try to keep the blog as light hearted as we can even though our fostering some times causes heart ache.

But never have we been so upset and annoyed over unscrupulous
breeders who keep on breeding dogs with this genetic problem.
This programme was on TV.

The programme shows a prize-winning Cavalier King Charles spaniel suffering from syringomyelia, a condition which occurs when a dog's skull is too small for its brain.
Syringomyelia is a disorder caused by a congenital malformation of the occipital bone of the skull. In essence, the skull is too small for the brain. This causes the higher pressure in the brain, which causes the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow to be "backed up" and not flow well. This causes hydrocephalus which is enlargement and dilation of the ventricles of the brain. It also causes the cerebellum to be pushed out the foramen magnum (the hole in the skull through which the spinal cord comes off the brain) which is referred to as herniation of the cerebellum. Eventually, the pressure build up causes fluid filled pockets called syrinxes to form within the spinal cord. This damages the nerves of the spinal cord which causes the symptoms.

We could only watch a little then turned it off, but with poor gorgeous Gina we
got to see first hand how awful this condition really is.

Gina 6 years old her mum is very ill so Gina came to us for re-homing , after 24 hours we saw the first bad fit starting after the howls lasting for three hours then the walking in circles and falling over her heart was beating so fast , trying to calm and comfort
her had no effect.

After speaking to her vet we discovered that it had gone on for a long time and it
had been discussed several times about putting little Gina to sleep.
Obviously her mum was hoping for a miraculous cure for her beloved companion
and was finding it very hard to make the final decision. The lady had spent thousands
of pounds at the vets to try to get Gina well nothing could be done..

Gina had more attacks after this, so we decided the kindest thing would be to make the
decision her mum could not. and we found it very hard she was such a sweet girl. It was very upsetting and is hard to stop thinking about her. It is bad enough a healthy dog becomes ill but this poor girl and probably the rest of the litter were bred like this, and lots more are being bred.
Where is the love for dogs or the care for the people who buy a pup. Mostly the breeder will know the dog will have this condition and it will show as the dog grows as early as late puppy hood .

We have looked on the net and we can not believe the reported amount of breeders who
out of greed keep on breeding dogs with Syringomyelia as its genetic its passed
to the pups.

We are doing this to plead with anyone who is going to buy a puppy Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to check fully the breeders past litters and their vets. Speak to people who have got older Cavaliers who have not had problems, please do some research, or these breeders will keep breeding very sick dogs.
If you do not you could end up with such a vet bill and still the heart ache of putting to
sleep your beloved dog at an early age, there is no cure for this terrible condition
and to watch it is heart breaking..

A good healthy dog can have a life span up to about 15 years a lot to 17.
The King Charles is a good companion easy to live with dog so a lot are bought
as companions by ladies only to get their hearts broken watching their pets health
deteriorate. I can not stress this point hard enough please check your breeder out
otherwise the pain and suffering you will see is heart destroying.
If you know good breeders let me know.
If you know bad ones let me know.
It seems Sweden has the most stringent of tests for breeding .

We at pawz try hard to keep our animal stories light and happy (even though the truth about the background of some of them would make you weep, we found out a long time ago that it’s better to be positive than dwell on dark things and thoughts. However a much loved blog has not been blogged for some time because its author has found it hard to move on after looking after a sweet thing called Gina for a short while.

Gina’ s previous owner was not cruel to her she loved her so much that in fact it must have been one of the contributing things that broke her heart (literally) when she found that her beloved little girl was developing a cruel debilitating condition that there is no cure for. We cannot imagine how sad it would have been for her to watch her beloved Gina deteriorate. Gina broke our hearts and we only knew her for two short weeks till we made the decision her owner could not and ended her suffering.

There is an anger in us that needs to vent. What are we angry about? And who are we angry with?

Dog Breeders unscrupulous greedy ignorant breeders that don’t give one thought about the heartache and the illness (in the owners of the unfortunate animals) they cause let alone the huge financial costs of trying to treat, relieve or correct the deformities and defects they create while trying to turn a profit on the wretched animals that they breed .

I will not go into Gina’s particular defect as john already has but Gina’s defect is just one of so many in so many different breeds people still go on purchasing these animals Paying these people encouraging them to carry on doing what they do because its profitable

Not all breeders are bad the world needs puppies, but to buy from internet cites , men in white vans that arrange to meet you in lay bys or deliver to your door, people who say things like “this is the father” when there is no mother to be seen (and people fall for that one? ) people who don’t let you see the conditions your new pup was born into, people who will sell their animals into totally wrong environments and homes, people where the only criteria is show me the colour of your money and I will give this soul to you to do with what you will, and even breeders that breed winning best of breed at crufts, breeding dogs that they know carry defects that they will pass on!. We despair! we know that we will continue to try and pick up the pieces, but beg you all to warn and warn loudly to anyone thinking of buying a pup from anywhere to research ,research, research, and in the end to go with their gut instinct on whether they are buying from a decent source and to tell them, they are not helping to “rescue” the animal by buying from these people and companies they are causing the very problem by their own actions of buying from these sources they are perpetuating and compounding the problems .

If you know good breeders let me know, so people can have a pet that does not break thier heart.

Look at my beach it was so windy the sand

was blowing into all my orifices.

I decided to go to my wall.

Even big Ty said his ear might blow off.

I was getting sand out of my eyes.

Dippy Pip said this is great only

us on the the beach .

My ball is going a long way with the wind.

Then off he went Ty was going with him

but he gave up Pip was a little dot in

the distance.

Then he took Ty to the water.

I think it is funny this big daft dog follows

a little daft dog about.

Trixie was up by my wall keeping out of

the wind.

When we came home Ty lay by Trixie and

she did not seem to mind.

and read all the pee-mail.

Ty said no I am playing with the ball and

the little furry thing.

I said he is a dog its dippy Pip well he is

mop boy again now his hair has grown.

Then he went off to have a good look at Pip.

Trixie cane to me she said I will come wih

you Bobby.

I did not want a girl with me but she

thought she was being kind.

I could see Ty running with the big ball,

I never bother with balls, but today!!!

I decided I would.

Trixie came then and shouted for us to

follow her.

Then she pinched the ball.

Pip told Ty to follow him and took

him to a pool.

This gorgeous Rotti needs a new home

he is a two year old kind gentle big boy.

He is good with people cats and

Even pestie little pups, so that is very kind.

He was left in a house by his owner when

he moved out.

The butt sniffer is Milo's new brother.

Trixie has no manners either another

the vets, then came back with Trixie

and this little girl.

Trixie said she took little Gina for a walk

before the came home and tried to teach

her how to roll.

The good news is Milo went for a home

trial with a little Jack Russell we met

on the beach. They rang today to say

they want to adopt him. So that's great

news.

We went to see this little girl her owner

has died, she is very sad.

Her name is Trixie she is 12 years old

and needs a new home.

Trixie is a gentle kind little dog,

she has only been with us 2 hours

and she is a little shy yet, so we

are being very kind to her.

Milo is a very happy little dog, and he

comes back as soon as you call.

He was a little scared on the first walk,

but loves it now.

He pulls on the lead so will need some

heel work.

We are having a nice warm day,
it was cold yesterday.
We know some furbodys are far to

So out it came and Charlie said what is this.

Dippy Pip jumped in he said its mine.

I am going to get some toys to put in.

Charlie got in as soon as Pip got out,
he was drinking the water.
Pip ran back he shouted he is drinking
all my water.

He had lots of toys in .

He charged about with his big ball.

Then Charlie started taking all the toys out.
Dippy Pip was not amused.

Now Charlie ran down and sorta dove in.

Now Auntie Liz and Uncle Brian have come,

we have had some great walks.

Pip is still going in the water and I

tell him to get out.

I even went to drag him out.

We walked to see a waterfall

We saw this tree with money stuck in

We had to look all over to find a place to

put a coin it is so full.

Now we are happy and tired, we will sleep

We went for a walk into Keswick

it was nice and sunny again.

The lake district is known for rain

When little Poppy came for the first few

days he was quiet and shy.

We were a little worried we need not

have been.

He started by attacking the vacuum cleaner

that we run and hide from.

Then he started taking Pips toys right out

of his mouth.

Now look he is getting cuddles like a little baby.

We went for a walk and took little Poppy, he is

feeling a lot better now. I said follow me.

He had a little combat coat on he thought he

was in a jungle.

He walked very well we walked a long way.

Now he is crashed out with Dippy Pip in the sun.

It is nice and warm now Poppy even took

We were not back from our holiday long,

when John went out, when he came back

Pip shouted we have a rabbit. It must have

Then John brought it in, he said it is a Chihuahua dog,

Look a happy Bobby, we went camping, well in

a shed on wheels, it was better than a tent.

I went in and claimed my bed first.

John and Pip got one together,

Brenda will have to sleep in my little tent.

Its a good job I brought it.

We all had a little sleep then went to

explore.

There was great walks, it was a nature reserve

with lots of marsh land.

We went to a look out platform, Pip was told not

to go in the water. He said I will drop my ball in

then I will have to go in to rescue it.

So he did and in he went, he swam about.

John shouted at him to come out.

He turned and swam back.

He said in a muffled voice I just went to

save my ball.

Now he is wet and stinky, but he still has

his ball. I can not believe John is so daft

as to think Pip did not drop it in on purpose.

This is the White water raft and canoe place

it was not doing anything while we were there.

They will practice for the Olimpic games

here.

Pip was not allowed in when we got back he had

to have a wash.

Brenda was cooking our dinner, I was watching

the rabbits, they come quite close.

They are all over, daft Pip thinks they are

Yorkshire Terriers like him.

Some rabbits were bigger than him.

We are back now, I had a great time.

Little Oscar came for a holiday for a week,

Tyler had just gone and in came Oscar.

He said I play hide and seek. with Alicia my little

human girl, I will hide you find me.

Well I have seen some hiding places but that beats

them all John saw him we did not.

He told John not to tell us where he was, so John did

not say anything.

Daft dog had to stand and shout to us in the end

he was laughing, he thought he was clever.

I just thought he was daft and told him so.

Oscar said he is very clever, Alicia takes

him to shows and they went to the

Magic Trust show they are a Charity for

Disabled children they got three Rosettes

one was for the best behaved rescue dog.

Alicia got one for the best under Eleven

years old trainer. So that is great.

We were on the field John said sit and smile and

he sat and smiled.

Then we walked on and when we looked back

he was still sitting smiling,

John said Oscar is very good. HUH!!!

Now look what Oscar did for Pip to my tent,

he is far to clever.

Little Tyler was asleep with his paw on his treat, so Pip

could not pinch it.

John woke him up, he said come on you might have a new

home.

Tyler went to meet his new brother Charles.

They got on great, so Tyler got his new home.

He was a little upset when John left him,

we have had a phone call and he is fine and

has settled in very well. He has another brother

called William who is the same as him,

the three of them are all fine together.

So that is good.

We took Tyler to my park, to see some of my furends,

it is all nice green now.

The stream is dry with no good rain for so long.

We saw Max he was the only one in the park.

We went up the steps to the top field ,no dogs in sight.

Just as we were leaving Pip said look who is here.

It was little Tilly who we had fostered a year ago.

She came over to see me, and to tell me how happy she is.

Tilly took Tyler to see her mum and her Sister.

She said it is great for me if I want I hop on and have a ride.

We walked round and Tilly just got on and off, Tyler said

he would like that to.

This was Tilly with us and a big smile to get a new home.

She told Tyler he must smile.

So he has done his best.

Today I told Tyler to keep back while I looked

for four leaf clovers.

I found one and Tyler ran up he was going to eat it.

So I pee-mailed it to John.

Then I found more, I am very good at finding them now.

I found four so we are pressing them in a big book.

John said I can pick the Lotto numbers.

Little Tyler is following me all the time, I was looking

for a four leaf clover for John.

I shouted to John when I found one, Tyler and Pip came to look.

I said watch it until John comes and Tyler ate it.

Another daft dog.

Now they are lying together, Pip is sorry for letting Tyler eat my clover,

Tyler just does not care.

I wanted to go camping again, so John got me a tent,

He said this is just for you Bobby.

Its great I was nice and relaxed.

Then Tyler came, he said oh goodie a tent.

he shouted to Pip to come and see.

I said this is a one dog tent

Pip pushed in he said there is lots of room.

Now they are in my tent with no room for me.

I said to John tell them to get out.

Pip grinned at me and stuck his tongue out.

I told John they were both calling me names.

He made them get out.

Now I am happy, Pip and Tyler were told to let

me have my tent back, and there is a notice,

they have to keep out.

Little Oscar came to stay for a few days, he was all white

and clean. He is a bit scruffy since he came here, he went

into the duck pond in all the mud.

When we came back we had our breakfast, then I walked

out to get a bed by the pool, Tyler was already there.

All the beds were booked they had put toys on to claim them.
I said this is as bad as on holiday when they all put towels on
the pool loungers, then go back to bed..

I shouted to John, he said there is four of you and four beds.

Baldy Pip said he wants one for him and one for his ball.

Pip came he was nearly crying because his squeak bottle
was in the pool, he said he is not going in until his hair grows.
Tyler said he would go in for it, but only put one paw in then
said , its to cold.

We all got a bed, Brenda came and sorted everything out,
It got nice and hot Pip even took his jumper off.

Mop Boy Pip had promised if we went to the beach he

would go for a hair cut and not make a fuss (He Lied).

He took some catching but went in the end.

We could not believe our eyes when he came

back.

I laughed that much when I saw him I had to go outside.

Tyler followed me he said who is the new dog.

I said its Pip with a hair cut.

Tyler said his groomer must have had a sense of

humour.

He is not even acting like Pip, he always sulks for

a few days.

He even wanted a jumper on, he said he is cold.

Then said I am still cold.

Now he is tucked up and we are hot with our nice coats

on.

Look at mop boy Pip he has been told he is going for a

hair cut now he is sulking.

He said he will go if we go to the beach first because

he wants to show Tyler our beach.

Mop boy was not happy because Tyler came with me to

read all my Pee-mail.

Pip was shouting for him to go with him to the water.

So off they went Pip said he would teach Tyler to swim

Tyler said we Spaniels love water I can swim.

Pip dashed in the water.

Tyler waited until Pip came out, he said is it cold.

Another daft dog its the North Sea of course its cold.

Well Tyler went in and said Brrrr this is cold,

he tried to stand on a rock.

Then he ran out, well he steped out slowly trying not

to get wet. .

So much for the swimming Spaniel he must have thought

we were in the Caribbean.

I went wandering in like I was very brave, I really hate

getting my feet wet, and swim, I would not dream of it.

Pip came running out of the water and shook right in my face,

he thinks thats funny.

We all had a good run about chasing the ball to get Pip dry.

Now you can guess where we ended up, yep the pub.

Tyler was a little shy at first and sat on John's knee.

Then he went down and had a drink (water) and was happy.
He likes the Smuglers Pub, We met more furbodys in the pub.

This is us at the Country Park you will notice little

lard butt dippy Pip, and Tyler is a little plump.

Me in front like a stick insect since I can not have a treat.

Tyler is on a diet John says he is such a lovely furbody he could have

ten of him to one of me, that's because he does not have to buy treats

with all the lard butts in the house.

Notice how Pip is back to looking like a mop again, he

is going to get his hair cut. We have not to tell him,

he kicks up so much fuss.

This was all black pit heaps then when they closed the mines they spent a long

time making this park.

Even nice grass to roll on, guess what was there an ice cream van

Tyler saw it and wanted one.

He set off to the van he said come with me Bob we

will get a nice ice cream, Brenda went and got one she

told John it was for herself, guess who got it.

Yes two lard butts.

Brenda said do you want some Bobby, I said no thank you.

Tyler said I will eat his share.

Dippy Pip ate more as well , diet Ha, Brenda said its just a little treat.

I like little Tyler as well, he is a gentle happy boy,

He follows me about.

I let him read my pee-mail, and leave some.

This parcel was in Morrison USA, Jake and Fergi with the help of their mum

sent it to us,

Our happy mail man shouted , are you there Bobby and Pip

he said I have a parcel here, from Jake and Fergi all the way

from America.

Pip was shouting to get it open.

John said we could look through and pick one thing each.
So there would be toys for the poor dogs who came in with
nothing.

I was just about to pick a dog type toy when Pip
grabbed it and ran off with it.

Pip picked this dog toy because I wanted it.

I stuck my head in the box and found a great toy

I found this one in the box, and I love it, love it, love it,

it has loads of squeaky things in.

This is a picture of Jake and Fergi I was looking at it when
a big commotion broke out. Brenda put all the toys on the table.

He got into trouble he had jumped up.

I helped John to put the toys back in the box and we
put them out of the way.

There was lots of toys and paw prints,
we thank Jake Fergi and their humans very much.

This is Tyler he is 6 years old and he now needs a new home,
he is a little darling.

Little Jock is going to his new home in the morning

so we took him to my park , to see all my furends.

We saw my pals Oscar and Max, they were quite pleased to meet Jock.

Pip saw Ralph and told him I was in the park so he ran to see me

Ralph said all the furbodys had missed me, and were waiting

for me to write some pee-mail.

Now they are all waiting to leave a comment, I will have to

come back to read them.

We all hope this home works out for Jock this time.

Brenda is still away so I am looking after John and Pip,
Pip lost his ball this morning so he insisted on bringing his little rabbit.

We went down to my field the little rabbit got shook about.

Pounced on.

Shoved in the mud

Poor thing I felt quite sorry for him.

Then a lady shouted, I think this is your ball Pip.

So he ran for his ball and left the little rabbit lying in the mud.

John had to carry a scruffy rabbit home, everybody we saw

said have you been hunting.

Now it has been washed and is drying it is still smiling.

We are behind with our blog and visits, its Johns fault he keeps being busy.
Little Jock has been visiting a lady who is retiring in a couple of weeks, she seems
to like Jock and he is happy with her. So it could mean he has got a home,
we have told him he must be good, the lady is on her own, so Jock will be better as he
likes women.

Jock is away with Brenda who has gone to see her mum & dad she went on the train and she said Jock was very good.

Now you know we usually get sausages for evening treats, well not now because the
vet nurse saw John and said have you got lard butt with you.
Well that was not quite what she said it was a little more crude, but she meant Pip
so I can not have sausages because Pip is on a diet.
I am not happy about it.

Harvey has gone for his operation, then he will be looked after by
someone else until he gets a new home.

We sent Pip to ask could we go to the beach again, as it was sunny.

There was lots of humans and furbodys there, we met uncle Brian
and auntie Liz they have Taylor, Sasha, Whisky, Pippa and Jasper.
They found it so hard to part with foster dogs.

Every furbody went to say hello I went to check my pee-mail
and reply.

Pip wanted all the furbodys to chase him into the water daft thing
it is still cold.

Then they all came to see me but I was still checking my wall.
Taylor was still trying to get Pips ball

Guess who got the ball little Whisky the Poodle

Jock was stood on the sand when a wave came right in, he got a shock. That will

teach him not to stand with his back to the sea.

We all had a good time. we like the beach.
