Dance

Hi, John has been determined to teach us to dance since he went to watch Disco, Pogo and Whiz. I gave in and gave it a go because the Mop and Tilly wanted to. John and Brenda taught us this little dance. I was fed up it took us a whole hour to learn it. He said he will teach us another dance, I told him to get lost if he thinks I am wasting another hour he can think again.

Can you guys help me find a companion all of my own? I have just lost my own beloved friend of 12 years who had to share me some of the time with our other two dogs. All in all I have shared the last 14 or 15 years of my life with a mental but lovable English Springer, an oh so sedate black Labrador and the most gorgeous dark brindle Boxer that has ever been born - not that I thought I would ever give house room to a Boxer but - he needed a home. Actually I intercepted him from ending up with the Boxer Rescue Society and that was the best decision I have ever made in my life......
Anyway, I am now getting long in the tooth myself and do have some mobility problems having had surgery on my spine BUT I am NOT immobile. I would like to give a dog a home that may be overlooked by some people. My requirements, I would have thought, were not too difficult but are proving to be so. I need to find a dog who isnt a puppy, who isnt wanting miles and miles of exercise, but MUST be accepting of my two small grandchildren, they do have their own dog and are used to respecting animals. I would like my new companion to be friendly towards other dogs as there is plenty of scope where I live for play time off lead once we both trust each other.
I have been to a Rescue place today and although the animals are better there than roaming the roads they are horrible places to end up in. I need to be able to make the right decision as although this Centre offer a trial period I think it would be awful for a poor animal to think it had found a new home and then only to be returned if it didn’t work out – who knows though a weeks break may do it the world of good. When you are taking another living creature into account its very difficult to make the RIGHT decision and I need to feel that that is just what I am doing! I’m into “Forever Homes” definitely not just for Christmas! (By the way, if I need any evidence, I can produce my dogs Vet Medical Cards, to prove how long they shared my life and also that they were well cared for.)
So, do you know of any senior citizen pals that need a home or are you able to suggest where to look? Time is getting on, it would be lovely to share my Christmas dinner with my new companion.
I live in Co Durham/Tyne & Wear and as I have surfed the net since 6pm this evening and its now after 2am I cant remember where you are based. Any help would be greatly appreciated by me and hopefully by my new pal.
Say sorry to your Dad from me for taking up all his space but I thought it was a good opportunity to chat.
Finally, I should have mentioned I don’t mind whether my companion would be a bitch or a dog as I have had experience with both.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you can help me.
Cheers
Pam
